My name is Helen Mannarino. I grew up in Poland, helping in a family-owned restaurant. In 1974, I emigrated to the United States and settled in McKees Rocks, a suburb of Pittsburgh. After several years working in the food industry in the Pittsburgh area, I came to a point in my life when I knew it was time to make a big decision. I asked God to give me wisdom to either go back to work, get more education or pursue my dream--opening a restaurant.
Ever since moving to America, I missed the comfort foods I grew up with: pierogies (crescent-shaped, tender dumplings filled with a variety of fillings), stuffed cabbage, homemade potato salads, noodles and cabbage, etc. I wanted to share this wonderful Eastern European food to the community for others to enjoy. The Lord did answer my prayers by helping me to make the right decisions.
These Polish pierogies are made the old-fashioned way. Varieties include:
Potato & Cheese
Sauerkraut & Potato
Cottage Cheese & Chives
Our pierogies are made daily from scratch, using the highest quality and freshest ingredients: hand-peeled Idaho potatoes, hand-made dough, real cheese, fresh chopped onions--just like we made them in the Old Country. WE DO NOT USE PRESERVATIVES OR ADDITIVES.
